You have probably come across my website because you’re struggling in some way.
I would like to offer you some reassurance until you find this on your own. Maybe you are wondering how I can help. It is my intensive training and in-depth learning about myself through my own counselling journey where I can support you and work collaboratively to gain a better understanding about your experience of the world. We all see the world subjectively in a way that is based on personal feelings, experiences and opinions. My expertise comes from gaining a greater understanding of myself so that I can work better in a non-judgmental way and listen to what is happening for you. We are constantly learning, changing and growing everyday through our experiences and at times can get lost along the way.
I hope that you find your way around my website easily and please do give me a call if you have any questions.
There are links throughout my website, which are in aqua green - please click on these to find out more.
I am a qualified and bacp accredited humanistic existential counsellor
Claire Burston BACP Registered (Accred)
Dip. Couns, BA (Hons) Fine Art Degree
I follow a person- centered approach and the main premise is that clients know themselves better than anyone else and I provide the tools and guidance for them to be able to explore this.
Humanistic psychology is about striving for self-acceptance, greater understanding of personal values, beliefs and personal meaning of life.
As for Existential psychology, this explores our freedom of choice and the responsibilities that go along with it.
If clients are struggling to talk about certain things, if they choose to, I may use other creative tools such as drawing, painting and sand tray. My approach to counselling is to allow a client to express themselves in whatever way they choose, whether it be through words or creatively.
